Many museums charge for admission while others are free. Do you think the advances of charging people for admission to museums outweigh the disadvantages?
In this essay. I will argue that museums should charge admission fees and the idea of free universities should be wrapped.
When it come to museum,it is evident that the current model has many problems. In this current era, some museum rely on government handouts to remain open, thus taking away money that could be better spent on providing tax cuts for businesses or subsidies for failing banks. In return, all the museum offers is a collection of things from the past that people stopped using because they were no longer useful, such as art or other aspects of a forgotten culture.
In my opinion, a museum should only exist if people are willing to spend money visiting it. For example, a museum dedicated to apple, showing the various phones and pads the company has developed, would be fascinating and well worth an entry fee. Also, the museum could sell current products for a profit. This would provide people with places to go, but also generate money by itself, thus relieving the burdens placed upon a government.
Free museums ire bad because anyone can visit them, including the homeless and unemployed. These people should be looking for a job, but instead they congregate in museums and thus waste their time and society's resources. Some people would argue that museums provide a valuable service to society, and so should be free for every level of society, but I would say that this is wrong - all a museum does is show us how people lived in the past. If that was useful, why are we not still living like that? Museums cannot teach us how to get a better job or make more money, so they’re really not so useful and should be expected to exist on their own merits.
