For part 2 of IELTS speaking, I encourage my students to prepare ideas for 6 main topic areas:

6大基本話題

Describe an object (a gift, something you use etc.)

描述一個物品（禮物，所使用的東西等）

Describe a person (someone you admire, a family member etc.)

描述一個人（崇拜的人，家庭成員等）

Describe an event (a festival, celebration etc.)

描述一件大型活動（節(jié)，慶?；顒拥龋?/p>

Describe an activity (e.g. a hobby)

描述一件小型活動（業(yè)余愛好，團隊活動等）

Describe a place (somewhere you visited, a holiday etc.)

描述某地（你旅游的地方，度假的地方等）

Describe your favourite (book/film/advertisement/website)

描述你最喜歡的（書，電影，廣告，網站）

Most questions fit into one of these topics. For example, "Describe a river, lake or sea which you like" is number 5 - you could describe a holiday by the sea, or a city with a river.

其實，絕大多數問題，都可以歸到這6大基本話題里。比如"描述你喜歡的一條河/湖/海"屬于第五種話題-你可以描述你在海邊所度過的一個假日，或者有某條河的一個城市。

那么，怎么具體地用6大基本話題法來來準備口語的話題呢？其實，主要要做的工作，就是搜集整理“theme vocabulary”主題詞匯。

主題詞匯搜集是關鍵

For example, here are some ideas for a description of an interesting city:

例如，在準備Describe a place下的話題時，我們可以選擇一個比較熟記的話題describe an interesting city，有哪些不錯的詞匯可以用來描述城市的好，有趣呢。

lively, bustling, hectic, thriving

cosmopolitan, multicultural

fascinating, unique

a special atmosphere

sightseeing, entertainment

an unforgettable experience

enjoyed every minute

the time flew by

endless things to see and do

it was over too quickly

你可以發(fā)現，這些詞在描述某地時，多多少少的都能用上，通過1個基本話題下準備兩三篇話題，把正面的主題詞匯和少量負面的主題詞匯都整理出來，然后通過篩選，得到最通用的一批，通過更多的話題的演練，你就可以將這批詞匯用得得心應手了。

About the "describe an activity" topic. You might be asked to describe a hobby, sport or game, so it's a good idea to be ready for this topic.

再比如你需要描述一項活動，你有可能會被問到業(yè)余愛好，一項運動或一項游戲。

My approach is to prepare ideas for one sport (e.g. swimming) and one game (e.g. chess). I start with a simple idea, such as "swimming is healthy". Then I search for good words and phrases related to this theme. For example:

我的復習方法是準備好一項運動（比如游泳）和一項游戲（象棋）。從一個最簡單的想法開始，比如“游泳是一項很健康的運動”。然后我就開始與這個主題相關的搜集好的詞匯和短語（編者注：建議大家使用bing搜索來查找這種外文語料）。

"Swimming is healthy" theme:

keep fit

get in better shape

a good cardiovascular workout

feel refreshed, rejuvenated, invigorated

gives me an energy boost
