A time I shared something with others happened last Christmas which was right before the Covid 19 outbreak.

一次我和與他人分享東西的經(jīng)歷發(fā)生在上個(gè)圣誕節(jié)，正好就是在疫情爆發(fā)之前。

A foreign friend of mine named Jake invited me to attend a potluck at his apartment in Wuhan.You know,it was hard to find a turkey in China as the main course.So,I brought a homemade Chinese salt water duck instead to share with others.

我的一個(gè)叫Jake的外國(guó)朋友邀請(qǐng)我在他武漢的公寓參加聚餐。在中國(guó)很難找到火雞用來(lái)做主菜。所以，我給他們帶了一個(gè)自己在家做好的咸水鴨。

Honestly,I was not familiar with most of the guests at his home.Jake told me they were his colleagues who were also ex-pats like him and treated me in a very good manner at the gathering.At the very beginning,I thought this duck would not suit their appetite.But,they ended up enjoying this food pretty much.

老實(shí)說(shuō)，我當(dāng)時(shí)對(duì)他家里的客人并不熟悉。Jake告訴我他們都是和他一樣的在這里工作的外國(guó)同事。他們?cè)诰蹠?huì)的時(shí)候?qū)ξ姨貏e有禮貌。一起開(kāi)始，我覺(jué)得這鴨子可能不太適合他們的口味。不過(guò)，他們吃了之后還是感到非常享受的。

I feel that one of the reasons why I shared it with them was that this was probably the most ideal alternative to turkey I could think of.Plus,I wanted to introduce this delicious traditional Chinese food to those foreign guests.

我認(rèn)為我要和他們分享這個(gè)的原因是咸水鴨是我當(dāng)時(shí)能夠想到的可以替換火雞的最好選擇。除此之外，我也挺想把這款中國(guó)傳統(tǒng)食物介紹給那些外國(guó)客人們。

Well,I definitely feel a sense of achievement.You know,it took me a whole afternoon to cook it,and their satisfying smiles really made my day.

我當(dāng)時(shí)感到特別有成就感。做咸水鴨花了我一個(gè)下午的時(shí)間。能夠看到他們滿意的笑容挺開(kāi)心的。
